In a nation of nearly 90 million, the largest in Mainland Southeast Asia, Farmers are of 48% of Vietnam’s workforce, 75% of the population is rural, 76% of the land is agricultural, 22% of GDP is from agriculture and 22% of exports are from agriculture, fisheries and forestry.

Vietnam, with a fast growing population and swift urbanization, remains dependent upon food imports. Private sector agriculture and fisheries value chain integration will match Vietnam’s structural consumption growth, increasing the stability of its rising middle class consumption.
